Vildana Repše, academic musician and violinist, violin teacher was born in Sarajevo, in the famous Smailović family. She studied violin in the class of Professor Dejan Bravničar at the Ljubljana Academy of Music, where she graduated.
With great interest and success he dedicates himself to pedagogical work in the Music Studio Tartini in Ljubljana, the first private music school in Slovenia, which he founded in 1990 together with his wife Repša Vlado. She is the author of several textbooks and manuals, a lecturer at seminars and international congresses, a researcher in the field of violin methodology and a mentor to young teachers.
As a true fan of orchestral music, she has directed her artistic work in orchestras: RTV Ljubljana Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic, Tartini Chamber Orchestra, Musica ad hominem String Ensemble and since 2010 in the Camerata Medica String Orchestra, in which she has played the role of concertmaster.
She is the winner of the Fran Gerbič Award 2020, which was awarded to her by the Association of Music Schools of Slovenia for her life’s work and exceptional achievements in the pedagogical and organizational field in the promotion of music education.
He has two daughters: Maja and Sanja. Both are active music artists and pedagogues
